If retirement means dreaming up a unique gathering space, commercial kitchen, business incubator-and creating it, then retired teachers Bernadette and Swain Fennimore are having quite a retirement.
Their Common Space in downtown Easton PA houses a gem of a commercial kitchen. 1,000 square feet, fully outfitted, licensed, insured and available on a daily or hourly basis. The kitchen draws both budding culinary professionals and successful catering companies to create and prepare their fare. Since May of 2017, more than a dozen entrepreneurs and food artisans have rented kitchen space and gone on to launch businesses of their own.
The marvelous kitchen is just the beginning of the possibilities.
The front, main area features a rich, varnished mahogany bar (built and finished by Swain), setting an inviting, intimate tone for celebrations, private or corporate gatherings, offsite meetings, networking, cooking classes, workshops, charity events and more.
Seating and movable tables for up to 100 fill the middle and at the far wall stands a second bar, this one with an additional, giving a birds-eye view of cooking demonstrations or the perfect setting for a pop-up kitchen.
Cooking, kitchens, gatherings and learning new skills all enrich lives and make priceless memories. You name it- an event, a class or demonstration, and Bernadette will do her best to help make it happen.
The Common Space husband-wife team have close ties in the community and are a powerful draw for creativity, entrepreneurship and bringing people together.
Kitchen Magic has joined the Common Space to celebrate their 40th anniversary and ‘40 years of Magic’. The oldest and largest kitchen remodeling and manufacturing company in the Lehigh Valley, family owned Kitchen Magic hopes to make lots of magic happen with events including a Kitchen 101 Series- a mini-workshop on a top kitchen design trend or question, followed by a hands-on culinary class on a popular topic.
